...and what a weekend it was. We had Whiffle Ball. We had thunderstorms. We had Euchre. We had cornhole. We had ladder ball. And somehow...we're still waiting for the league office to release its official disciplinary report.
Rachel
Saturday morning started exactly how everyone imagined... Blue skies... Fresh-cut grass... Walk-up music echoing across Three Mile Lake... And Opening Day of the Three Mile Lake Whiffle Ball League.
Speaker 1
The matchup everyone had been waiting for... The **Lumberjacks**... versus... The **Charcuterie**.
Rachel
The Lumberjacks wasted absolutely no time making a statement. **Josh** was crushing baseballs all over the property... while **Charlie** continued proving why he's considered one of the league's most dangerous hitters.
Speaker 1
When the final out was recorded... The **Lumberjacks** claimed the season opener... sending an early message that they came to compete.
Rachel
Unfortunately... Mother Nature had other plans.
Speaker 1
The skies opened. Lightning flashed. Rain poured. And league officials made the difficult—but correct—decision to suspend Whiffle Ball operations.
Rachel
Fortunately... true competitors don't stop competing. They just move indoors.
Speaker 1
With bats replaced by playing cards... the inaugural **Three Mile Lake Cottage Euchre Championship** officially got underway.
Rachel
Early on... **Tita** and **AK** looked unstoppable. They collected win after win... and quickly climbed the standings.
Speaker 1
However... their victories have since come under league review... following multiple allegations of suspicious bidding... questionable table talk... and what several competitors described only as... *"creative interpretations of the rules."*
Rachel
League Commissioner **Frank the Boston Terrier** has declined to comment.
Speaker 1
Assistant Commissioner **Yeti the Yorkie** was unavailable for comment... after reportedly accepting treats from both sides.
Rachel
As quickly as it arrived... the storm moved on.
Speaker 1
Which meant one thing... Competition resumed outdoors.
Rachel
Cornhole.
Speaker 1
Ladder Ball.
Rachel
Bragging rights.
Speaker 1
Nobody remembers exactly who won every game... But everyone remembers who celebrated the loudest.
Rachel
Sunday morning brought what every great sports weekend deserves... A rematch.
Speaker 1
The **Lumberjacks**... versus... The **Charcuterie**... one more time.
Rachel
This time... the Charcuterie came ready.
Speaker 1
Once again... **Charlie** put together another outstanding offensive performance.
Rachel
Seriously... Can somebody check if Charlie has been secretly using an aluminum bat?

And on the mound... **Yaya** delivered exactly what the Charcuterie needed. Calm. Consistent. Clutch pitching.
Rachel
When the dust settled... The **Charcuterie** evened the season series with a well-earned victory.

It's time for our official weekend awards. 🥇 **MVP:** Charlie Outstanding hitting in both games and a constant offensive threat. 💪 **Power Hitter Award:** Josh Absolutely launched baseballs during Saturday's opener. 🎯 **Pitcher of the Weekend:** Yaya Sunday's difference-maker on the mound. 🃏 **Most Controversial Performance:** Tita & AK Currently awaiting the outcome of the league's ongoing Euchre investigation. 🐶 **Mascot MVP:** Frank & Yeti Provided outstanding morale support... and accepted countless belly rubs throughout the weekend.

The action isn't over. Not even close.
